dont agree with the sacking and think for alot of people his knowledge of the game will be missed. The comments were not broadcast live altho with them being leaked its more or less done the same damage.
Keys should go to as gray has!

The really interesting thing about all this tho is sky sports policy to only employ attractive women. To me it seems they use attractive girls knowing its mainly guys that watch. Is that not a form of sexism? There has got to of been some ugly's that are just as good as reading sports news??
just a thought

Linky not worky...youtube bod hath closed their account.

Anyway, I can't believe they couldn't have been sacked sooner for a gross lack of anything interesting to say that relates to football.

Huh?!? You're joking right? Andy Gray was never an intelligent footballer and neither is he an intelligent pundit...as he has proved.

You're saying all the fellas are dog rough then? Not all the women are good looking, although that's down to personal taste. With the exception of the ex-footballers, I reckon Sky apply similar standards to both male and female broadcasters.

Er. Did I post this on the wrong forum? This is the Male chauvinist piggie forum isn't it?
In general, bugger all. In general they know nowt about cars, computers or reclining armchairs either and I'll continue to make cheap jokes about it. Just like I'll continue to make jokes about OAPs, cancer, paedophilia, blacks, hamsters and the poor.

You don't like it you can kiss my *rse

Anyway on a serious note, I believe sky are over reacting to sack them and think they may have wanted rid anyway. This was a bit of banter (not very good banter, but still) not intended for public viewing and not "disparaging remarks", they weren't made TO a colleague were they? They didn't go into the board room Harry Enfield "George Whitebread" stye... "Ehhhh up, nice tits, no offence!"
On camera or not, they believed these marks to be off air and intended for each others consumption only.

I didn't find the "does she know offside" bit particularly funny, but the bit about her being a looker and questioning the cameramans judgement did give me a giggle.

Football is a blokes sport, as a discerning gentleman more interested in the baiting of endangered species, flagellation and brandy, obviously I know nothing about it. But it's fairly sure that any woman going into it knows and accepts exactly what to expect, as seen by the fact that she's accepted the apology and just got on with the job. So on that basis anyone having a massive womens rights based whinge about it is a c*nt.

Bit of an overreaction. If he hadn't apologised or the lineslady in question wanted to kick up a serious stink about it then yes the sacking would have been justified. If you're telling me she's got to where she is in football without having to put up with little snips of banter in a predominantly male sport then she's in the wrong job. By heck I think she's brave doing what she is doing and good on her but it's no surprise that some men will push the boundaries. Yes it was unprofessional, yes it was uncalled for but I don't think it's a sack-able offence. A big slap on the wrist yes.

HOWEVER. The fact that he had a warning and repeated the action justifies the sacking, he really should know better! Eejit.

p.s. i typed this before YC did but didn't post till now cos my internet died so just to clarify, any similarities between posts are purely coincidental!

I may be wrong but I think the second "offence" actually only came to light after the warning about the first. It was actually "committed" before the warning.
