Whereas - Merc are cheaper for parts from the main dealer itself- i bought all my parts from Merc Glasgow and the only time i didn't I got royally screwed and got the wrong part.
Never used their servicing though - done it myself and a few friends for diagnostics.
personally - go see trading standards - they may already have complaints on file

BTW, it boils my pi55 when people call dealerships "stealers". Sure you can take your vehicle to somewhere cheaper, but they don't have the overheads a main dealer has and invariably nor do they have the wealth of information, special tools and expertise that a main dealer does. Alot of this overhead is enforced on the dealership by the manufacturer in order to promote a corporate image, but it's easy to overlook that when you're angry at having to buy four new spark plugs at 61,000 miles.

Without main dealers we have no access to genuine parts, service advice and information... nor new vehicles when we need them.

Boils my p*ss when people who work for stealers try and justify their hilarious prices by pointing out the flaws in their business model.

The car manufacturers are the ones who create the need for specialist information and tools at the design stage, which I cynically view as a deliberate effort to ensure income from the workshops.

But anyway this is besides point:

You know what I don't think he's angry at the price of 4 spark plugs, I think he's angry about not receiving a service he paid for. Imagine if you will going to the bar and receiving a pint glass with only half in it, I believe even as a southerner you would be upset.

If it was me I'd be even more p*ssed off at a breakdown resulting from a dealers criminal behaviour. They're charging 4 or 5 times the real value of a service, selling it on basis of "peace of mind" which has been proven time and again to be complete BS 'cos it's the exception rather than the rule that you'll get a decent job done!

You think it would boil your p*ss as much if he was upset that car had cut out in fast lane of motorway with his missus in it and call them stealers? Or on dark country lane? Or on some sh*thole estate?
F*cks sake lozzo. This is easily preventable failure, guaranteed any of my mates in dodgy backstreet garages would look in book and say "oh it hasn't had any plugs for ages, best put some in" cos they're proper mechanics not just fitters who do something because computer tells them to.

Slight derail so i apologise, stopped off at a scrappy to pick up a dipstick for the gf's Clio as apparently They're made of suzuki'esque shatterguaranteed plastic.

The guy wanted £10 plus £2 vat for a 10 year old dipstick.

I said 'you're the dipstick if you think I'm paying that price!' (a line I was rather proud of at the time) and walked out.

P.s doubt he's even vat registered...

Hammer, nail, head Chris...

She got the Ibiza home, but in the Vectra she stopped on the left just here

http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&ll...04.66,,0,13.11

with Euan in the child seat in the back. When traffic lights are on green cars are coming left round that bend straight off the M42 at 50+ mph.

Luckily she had the sense to start the car again and use revs and clutch slip to keep it going until she was somewhere safe.

My cousin was hit by a wagon at 56mph 'cos she broke down in the left hand lane of this dual carriageway

http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&ll...,239.11,,0,1.3

she stopped when the car hit a tree at the top of the embankment and rolled over. An hour she was in the upside down car before the fire brigade managed to cut her out. She's very lucky to be alive. The wagon driver was sending a text.
