leave it restricted for day to day use, if you drive normally you can't really tell the difference at lower speeds. only when you get up to and beyond 8 thousand reves you can realy tell the difference.

I passed my test last october and had the same thoughts as you, i have kept it restricted and im not disapointed with the speed. I have ridden an sv unrestricted and of course there is more power, but with more power, comes more speed and responsability, and as a new rider i would say keep it in.

there is that as well . And if they catch you with it out the you are stuffed my friend.

if you get caught, you will lose licence/get a hefty fine and a fair few points
The offence in itself is 3 points "driving other than in accordance" it's if you also get done for no insurance, which I believe is possible though I'm not sure.

Perhaps some of the forum dibble could shed light on that

What's the point of that?

Even having the restrictor fitted don't guarantee you won't get hassle, remember flame boys run in last year, he had one fitted but was running 36hp ( I think) and they wrecked his bike while trying to prosecute him.

leave it fitted, wont do you any harm. remove it and you remove your valid insurance which is never a good thing

I dont remember hearing about how that ended?
And how are you meant to act/resolve the problem when your pulled and plod doesnt believe your bike is restricted? (When at the roadside without having the same issues as Flame Boy)

With help from a top man off here who's a cop, he got off with repair costs as far as I know.
I'm pretty sure the Bolox head cop who pulled him over got some stick over it.

There is absolutely no point in them being there at all im just too lazy to think of a better place to keep them parts while I dont need it restricting it give a buyer the option when I come to sell it. I dont have a logical place to keep the parts so therefore next best thing keep them with the bike

I know how you feel im on 33bhp too, and coming from my 125 its a big leap in power having a throttle that does something, unlike my 125.

I can imagine in a few more months ill be wanting to change over my ECU again but i dont think i will. I've wanted my license for too long to lose it and have to do it all again.

If you get caught then you will be done for driving without a license seeing as your not yet allowed to run more then 33bhp, no insurance and properly speeding!

Not saying don't do it, as many people do and never get caught, but be prepared if you do get caught!

Not sure im ready for another leap in power yet, need to get a bit more confidence in the corners first, getting a knee down is a lot easier on my 125 then it has been on the SV so far, but then i've only been on it 4 days
