vehery interesting.
cheers for that, I think at £50 cheaper than the vango I might give it (couple with waterproof spray) a crack. The pack size is more or less the same as the vangos too.

Vango quality for £20
I've got one of those too, but mine is naturally in black to match my bike and my soul

Main reason I bought it was because it packs down small and light, which means it fits in my topbox and doesn't have to be strapped across the back seat. It's rare I camp with anyone else, so the need for lots of room doesn't matter, and anything valuable or unneeded gets locked in waterproof panniers which stay locked on the chained up bike, saving room inside.

Ditto here - I had an Alpha 200 (until a pole broke) and liked it so much I replaced it with a 300 (as above, a 3 man version of the same tent with a slightly different bag zip that works better IMO). Both pack up well enough to make a speed triple half way towards practical for weekends away, so make of that what you will.

alternative to the vango is the coleman bedrock. in either 2 or 3 man.

use the 2 man all the time with the better half. made it though oban last winter with snow on the top.

or for 1 person and truelly small pack size the gelert solo. used mine for a year before i got the coleman when i went solo.

both cheaper than the vango. both of similer quality. both very waterproof although that maybe due to the treatment i give all my tents before use.

I have the Vango TBS Micro 200 (the TBS Micro became the Banshee a few years on)

Its lasted about 8 years, still going strong.

Vango costs a bit more, but looked after will last for ages.

I now have 3 Vango tents, wouldn't buy anything else.

similer to above. put up and either let it rain or hit it with the hose then leave to dry followed by a liberal coating of whichever spray proofer i have in at the name. normally decathlons finest. not a fan of nikwax. way to expensive for what it is.

I have the Blacks Octane 1 and 2, they are a bit cramped once inside, but they weigh so little and pitch very quickly. Plus the hydrostatic head (waterproof rating) is so good. It has a very waxy (I think) ripstop outer.

They both pack down so small, so on the back of a bike they are ideal.

On top of my TBS Micro 200 I have a Delta 300+ which is the 3 man dome, but the + means it had front and back porches/entrances, so plenty of storage.

And I will be taking delivery of my 5-man Vango Tipee at the AR
