Sod that, I used to hit three or four a week in my old Transit van on the airfield industrial estate access road where I worked from back then. Stop, lob the carcass in the back and carry on. Bloody things were everywhere and too stupid to run to the hedges
When I was driving in or out I used to make a note of what dead pheasants there were so I could spot new ones. Pheasant that were freshly dead but hit by other vehicles (mainly artics delivering) were lobbed in too. After a while there were too many to count on the 1 mile access road so I took a shovel one evening and cleaned the verges of them all so I could spot fresh kills. My mother-in-law used to do all the prep then hand them out to friends.
