It has a consistency and a taste I find familiar but I can`t quite put my finger on it . Followed it with a couple of pints of rather splendid Homebrew

Black or white pudding? Not similar in taste, but I can see how one could remind you of the other if you'd never had it before.

I always drink whisky with haggis

A small amount of single malt whisky, double cream, and haggis, mixed together in a ramkin (sp?) is fantastic as a starter.

I'm now thinking along the lines of...

Haggis, wrapped in bacon - battered and fried.

That, may just be the greatest thing ever and I'm going to have to try it now.

Or fry some Bacon off , throw some chunks of Chicken in the Bacon Fat and serve that on the side with some Haggis , creamed Spuds and a great big blob of steamed Spinache or Peppery Cabbage

Aaaaaaand, I need to change my underwear...

That sounds awesome, and shall almost certainly be along the lines of what's served up for tea tomorrow night.

Well it came in a flash of inspiration the second you mentioned Bacon . That Balmoral Chicken looks a blinder as well , My only regret is I didn`t discover this a lot sooner in my life .

I know it's obvious, but there really is an enormous difference between the mass produced, rubber wrapped stuff you get at the supermarkets and the stuff we get from the local butchers.

If you're up for the GMV, let me know and I'll pick you up some of the really good stuff on my way over - these guys make some awesome haggis - http://www.jbhouston.co.uk/haggis.htm
