Very sad and a timely reminder to all to be careful.
Hope you are ok and RIP to the rider. |

Might seem like a selfish post but there is nothing more you can/could do for the deceased. Try not to dwell on it and if you feel like it might be too much to deal with man up and seek help
Well done for doing what you could for a stranger as I bet many people would just drive/ride past |

So sorry to read this. As others have said, he wasn't alone in his passing which counts for an awful lot in my eyes. Big hugs, it's an experience no biker should have to endure from either perspective. x

RIP to the rider - I hope you are OK after witnessing the whole thing.
I guess you just don't think about those things until they happen... ![]() |

I didn't post any of this as anything other than a reminder that on the roads things can happen frighteningly quickly even at relatively modest speeds, it is quite indescribable how suddenly a seemingly relaxed bimble in the countryside becomes something so horrible. What I wanted to communicate to you is simply that a tiny distraction or lapse in concentration can have mammoth consequences, consequences that I wouldn't wish on anyone.
I've had requests for details of the crash, such that others could maybe learn from it. I fully understand the reasoning and the request but I've decided against doing so, I truly don't believe that there is anything to be learned from knowing that isn't entirely encompassed by the maxim 'stay alert'. Add to this that I doubt the family and friends of the rider would very much appreciate our thoughts on what happened being broadcast for all to see, I know that the chances of anyone connecting this thread with any names and places are small, remote even, but I'm not going to all the same. Lastly, thank you all for your kind words, but really I'm OK, I didn't sleep much Monday night, unsurprisingly perhaps, but other than that I'm fine. I'm really not a worthy object of your sympathy, nor now, I suppose, is the rider who died as he is now beyond the care of such thoughts, no, those sentiments should be reserved for those around him.
