Sorry to hear of your off. Still it could have been much worse - you can save up for the £700, but you can't save up for new body parts.
On the insurance side I certainly wouldn't make a claim for £300-odd quid that didn't involve a third party as it would affect excess, NCB etc. and work our much more over three years. I've never made a bike claim but I guess you'd have to declare it on the car insurance too? |

Hey Ceri hope the bumps and bruises are feeling a little better by now mate sorry to hear you took a dive.
As for the road surface ... get out there and get some pics mate, maybe send them to the highways agency ( or whoever) and maybe they'll come and clean this stuff off again. If it like this now hows it gonne be for braking on in the hot weather?

After spending Sunday fettling (and doing the service at the same time) and a trip to Hein Gericke on Saturday to replace my textiles, I'm now pretty much sorted. Still a couple of little things to do, but I'm by and large back on the road now.
One thing I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for: My Oxford Sports lifetime tankbag came off in the crash, looks undamaged (extremely suprised how well it held up TBH), but the zip that allows the "expanding" of the bag appears to of taken some damage. The actual sliding zipper itself is okay and moves freely, but when it comes to one part of the zip, the zip threads don't seem to want to come apart. Anything I can do to help loosen them? I'd rather not force it and knacker the zip and have the bag stuck expanded. If I had to choose, I'd rather have it "always compact", rather than always expanded. TIA. |
