Right, got off the phone from Carole Nash.

Upped my mileage from 4000 to 6000
Changed broker

£250 Excess, £308.10 (upped from £303.20 cos of mileage)

Previous broker was

£500 Excess, £318 (£287 if I stayed at 4000 annual miles)

both were still a lot cheaper than last year.

Bennetts were cheapest last year, however they do not cover me for any bike, so I got Carole Nash to match them last year - think I paid about £250
Cool - after telling them that I have the baffles removed from my cans I have just renewed for £227.47 fully comp with:-

Fully comp
European cover
European breakdown cover
Pillion cover
Any bike cover

Couldn't even be bothered to ring around at that price

Because most insurers pull figures out of their posterior with little regard to statistical analysis of how much of a risk you are, in spite of what they may claim to the contrary. They'll charge however much they think they can get away with. A lot of people (moreso with cars than bikes, mind) are lazy and just accept renewal prices and don't compare elsewhere.

There is no other explanation as to why I have been given quotes 3-4 that of the one I have ended up going with and the one I elected to use at a fraction of the cost hasn't underperformed in any way when I've needed them.

I was with them last year any they seemed fine, didnt claim though so that seems to help. Have you tried Simply again and ask them if they'll beat the quote. It worked for me?!

My car insurance renewal is due the same time as my bike , renewal was 370 quid
best deal was 222 from RAC (got 10 percent for on-line ) , received an email for new business from rac & also get a 75 cash back ! , therefore cover = 147 fully comp for the car .

The sv renewal from ebike was 243 , got renewal from bike team for 179 , therefore got the sv & the car insured for less than the car's original renew figure !

instead of paying 643 for car & bike paid 326 !

If you are a RAC member who has not used RAC for comp car insurance & your insurance is due (offers ends 31st March )

To get your £75 Cashback, simply phone 0800 404 6796 to purchase your car insurance with RAC Direct Insurance

It really pays to shop around

Cheers Steve
