I was thinking of having the CBR in black and red or blue (similiar to the gsxr colours) Or the daytona in red....have always been a bit weary of having a bike just in black, as it makes us even harder to see on the roads...
Thanks for everyone's input, sounds like the daytona is just too unrealiable, a few of my mates have been saying the same thing. Im just going to test ride both of them again, and if the daytona doesn't make an outstanding impression think ill be going with the CBR Cheers |

Latest issue of Ride mag, there is a comparison of 600's and the 675. CBR wins. They compared on tracks and day to day use. May be worth a peruse.

Although I'm a Triumph person the Honda does have better build quality but the main difference is the torque without reving the nuts out of it. If you are like me, a lazy rider then the triple, but if you like to wring its neck the Honda. I am waiting to try the new 675 Speed Triple as it is said to be very comfortable. Before you limit your options just to these two try a ride on the
800 BMW,either sport or tourer With reference to build quality of Triumph,my Sprint ST is 6years old and has no corrosion and 26,000 miles and the only thing that shows wear is the rubbers on the foot pegs |

i hope Mr.HRC not see me write this......675 would be my choice just for little sense of excla...excloo...exclues............not everyone got one.
Put race system or can on 675 and make noise no 4 cylinder can ever do That is why buy 675. All other things both very, very good. ![]() |

I read (I think in Bike and Ride) that the Triumph drinks oil at an alarming rate and a few machines have gone bang because the oil gets to an engine damaging level before any warning lights come on! If you are thinking about getting one I'd look into this and see if they've sorted it out. I'd love one as they're British, different and the obvious choice (for me) if going from a twin but I'd have to weigh that up against the build quality and reliability and I've read they are very hard to set the suspension just right (Although I've never even touched mine!). I've not seen a single bad word about the Honda on the otherhand apart from it's easy to ride and may be seen as the boring option. When I read easy to ride and boring that says to me it aint gonna throw me off when I least expect it, which if I was gonna spend 7k would be a very good thing! Just my 2ps worth. I've never even ridden anything quicker than my SV! I was drooling at both of them when new. Also, if you are a bit of a fatty don't forget the Triumph is very slim and the Honda is pretty small too. ![]() |

Um, that's typical, SVs are the same. That's an oil pressure light not an oil level light. Oil checking is done with the eyes.

That's a bit harsh. I've got a puncture repair kit, tool kit and can fit my wallet in there too.
The pointy SV has quite a bit of space under the seat but it's badly laid out meaning you can't fit much in it. Maybe the same items above but not a set of water proofs. |
