It is not 'self' - it is providing/making provision for yourself and your dependents

Do you really care about some random other enough to put your hand in your pocket taking away funds from YOURSELF and YOUR dependents???

You do have two choices, if you dont like it.

Move to either Saudi Arabia, or United Arab Emerates. They have very nice tax laws, 0%.

Enjoy.

It has been accepted above that there would still be a smaller mandatory tax to ‘make things work’ and to protect our country.

As for paying for Blue_ ... yes, that is my whole point people, why should YOU pay for anything to do with ME??? How is that ‘fair’ if you did?

I could do with a new conservatory as the old one is … well getting a bit old … who is willing to put their hand in their pocket to rebuild my conservatory? Why is this any different to expecting you to contribute towards my kids education, or indeed my medical welfare??

I cover my costs (including dependents), you cover yours … its the only true 'fair' way ... simple …

I'm rather happy about paying for my fellow country man, regardless of who they are or their (in my option) silly ideas. Is this not more about being a selfish person, after all how can you build a civilized nation if you are not prepaid that those that do better then the others help out the those that at the moment are struggling.
If not for the social services of this country as a young man on the doll I would have been stuffed, but it gave me time to sort myself out and now I am a productive person paying huge amounts of tax in, and have been for some time. From this everyone benefits, after all is that not the point.
Once one person opts out, the system falls apart and everyone looses out, so in the greater good of the many I'm afraid that Blue must suffer.

Here is a great little analogy I have just thought up …

Ok, most people have been in this situation …

You are going out for a ‘group’ meal … you have decided to drive … therefore can’t drink … you are also on a diet … others are not on a diet and drinking away …

Ok, so you have ‘consumed’ £15 worth of stuff, but divided up the bill comes to £50 a head … Do you/would you not feel a little put out ‘splitting’ the bill equally under these circumstances??? - knowing the bill is going to be split at the end do you not get a bit miffed along the way when the next round of sambookas (sp) are ordered?!?! And that is with people you know … perhaps a one off ...

Now do this every week ....

Now do this same thing for the whole restaurant …

Now do the same for the whole town …

Now do the same for the whole country …

At this point it is starting to make sense not to drive, to drink yourself silly and to order the lobster even if you don’t like it …

Yes it is a great analogy, but it is in no way relevant to the situation. After all people won't die if I refuse to pay for everyones lobster.
Which I won't... tight *******s.
