Today I said I'd switch off the sat nav and use my sense of direction (Mr LPH doesn't have one) and managed to located the south's longest bit of newly surfaced loose topped twisty road with a few random donkeys grazing on the side of the road round blind bends. While wearing the most uncomfortable pants.

That sounds like the new forest all right. I hope they move out of the way quicker for bikes than they do vans.
