Raising links are bad... because they **** up the nature of the linkage... which is bad on the pointy anyway. The correct way to raise the rear (without getting rather expensively involved and changing triple-links for custom ones etc) is to use a longer shock. Raising the rear a bit on these helps with turn in as you've reduced rake and trail... and also helps hold a line as you've a bit more balanced anti-squat. About 10mm of extra shock length is a good start. You can then fine tune this dynamically by playing with preload and damping and such to get it where you want at the right part of the corner. Obviously you can get as much or as little involved with this as you like

Re: Trackday project K3
Need some input please!!
I ordered a set of renthal sprockets, close to standard gearing for now. They're for a 520 chain but I was wondering what the preffered chain manufacturer is and where can they be bought. ebay searches bring up names I've never heard of! All input appreciated!

Re: Trackday project K3
I like tsubaki and I get mine from B and C express.
DID are also ok. I'd stay away from really cheap chains.

Re: Trackday project K3
Another couple of hours whittling again tonight:
Prepared the bike for the new drive chain by removing the front sprocket, cleaning out the crud! and loosening the rear sprocket nuts. Front sprocket gone: Oh and fitted the battered zorst, which is a bit lighter and primed for scraping along the tarmac without me caring when the inevitable spills occur!! Had a laugh when we fired up the engine to hear the new end can, noticed a pool of oil on floor nicely glugging out of the clutch release pin hole after some clown pulled it out for cleaning, oops. Ordered a DID 520 pitch chain and crash bobbins to be here next week. Now the new year is upon us, I want to get it done and get booking some more track time!! Oh and I'm attempting to fabricate a pair of rearset raiser plates from 10mm ally plate, based on a handy photo somebody posted on here. To do list: (To remind me more than anything!) Install new chain and sprockets. Tie up brake lines. Finish and fit rearset raisers. Fit seat and tidy electrics. (Lithium battery?) Oil and filter change. Fabricate Exhaust hanger & shark fin, if time allows. Front end tidy up?? Mount dash naked style or cover original subframe? (Don't want a fairing until I've got used to it!) Plenty to go at then!

Re: Trackday project K3
Could anybody tell me how the fibreglass race seats are usually fastened to the subframe, i.e. how can you bolt it down nice n tight without cracking the seat? And then avoid stress over time?
Is there some kind of rubber washer arrangement? All info appreciated!
