It's OK. I'm reliably informed it's not possible to actually make use of much more than 100bhp on the road anyway, so I might as well live with it for now.

Got my eye on a set of Arrow spannies for the RGV though - 60bhp and 139kg is easily do-able.

Wow a whole 5.2 bhp more than my apparently loathsome SV. I do of course leave the extra 11.8 bhp at home when I go out on the road but replace it with my 67.4 torques which always come in handy.

The weird thing about the 750 is that the power curve on the chart looks almost linear, but the delivery feels anything but. Suzuki have worked some magic with that bike - it only makes a few ponies more than my old 7R but the way it does it is so visceral it's an absolute hoot.

I see a thou (either 10R or GSXR) on the cards next year though.

What for? If the 750 is scary enough why get something quicker. Bragging rights?

I'm glad my 10R sale fell through. Firstly I couldn't afford the insurance but also, that much bike is too much for me and for the road. Now if you were doing trackdays I would say furry muff. A 600cc SS is as fast as I want to be on the public roads. Me getting all sensible in my old age, whatever next, I'll keep a bike longer than 5 mins?!?!

I said the 750 was visceral, not scary. As is always the way, for the first couple of weeks it felt absolutely insane but having ridden it to Belgium and back it's just a hoot. I wouldn't say no to a bit more midrange, too - there's not much usable below 8 grand. I wouldn't bother with a 600 at all unless insurance forced my hand - if I want something peaky and underpowered I've got the two-stroke to play with.

Your RG is not underpowered! It goes like stink from what I remember.

Hmm, I dunno. A litre bike, while controllable if being sensible.......I just think I would hurt myself.

Everything's relative.

RGV250: 55bhp, ~153kg kerb weight, 80kg rider: ~0.23bhp/kg
GSXR750: 118bhp, ~179kg kerb weight, 80kg rider: ~0.45bhp/kg

Of course, it all depends how you ride it. I have been known to hustle the RGV along at times.

Banjax in Bethnal Green. 40 quid per session, which is reasonable enough for a curiosity run. Decent blokes too.
