I think it largely depends what happens after the wheelie tbh.

Legally speaking I guess if you bust a wheelie they can do ya for it

not a wheelie guy myself cant see the point in risking my beloved bike that ive spent so much time and money on, but i have wheelied it a few times when ive been racing my mate on his gixer thou so it will come up off the throttle....

I like to do very little 1st gear wheelies sometimes.
Instead of doing wheelies do what I do and find a nice jump in the road to hit up that's more fun and not as much damage I'm guessing
