nice bike mate

am I right in thinking that the latest dukes (749/84 are more reliable than the previous ones? I am very tempted to pick up a 848 in a few years (maybe 6 months if someone wants to get me a nice 25th bday prezzi!! )

Errm I'm not sure they are you know. Ducati's have always suffered the reputation but if you service them like you are supposed to you shouldn't really have a problem. Of course there are exceptions to the rule but generally I think the people that winge about them being unreliable are the people who expect the thing to run and run and run without proper servicing.

I was looking at 848's and in a few years time I think ill have one in my garage but it was too much right now to went for the older 749.
I was talking to a fella who had a 1098S and his missus had an 848. He said 'hand on heart the 848 is the best bike I have ever ridden by a long way'

Depends when I move into a new place with a Garage. Currently I live in a flat with no secure parking so my bike stays at work.
It could be the beginning of May going to look at a new place tonight fingers crossed.

That said however I can't insure it until July. I don't get a years no claims until July when my SV insurance runs out. Then I will then put both on the same policy. If I insured it now it would cost £978 FC but then in July I would need to reinsure the SV and wouldn't be able to utilise my NCD on the Duke.
