The down pipe your talking about is what's also known as the link pipe, fastens you're can to the standard exhaust where you cut it.

We can sort on Saturday, but just to put your mind at rest; Normally, one end of the pipe will have a split in it, this goes over your standard pipework and fastened with one of the clamps (may be flared out a bit compared to the rest of the pipe). In a similar vein, the can will have a similar bit of pipe with a split connector on it, this will slide over the other end of the link pipe (which doesn't have a split) and be secured by a clamp.

As long and these bits look OK then it's fine. The ID of your std pipework is likely smaller than the OD as there will be further sound deadening material inside. The link pipe is just a plain steel pipe (no deadening material) so may indeed look narrower that what's on now, but should match the id.

Hope that clears it up?

Lee how does ~10:30 at yours sound?

IM attempting to fit this as we speak, no cutting is required (just watched a video on youtube), if i do manage to fit it myself do you want to go out for a ride on saturday instead?

Piece of proverbial then.

I've still got to help Lee with his, seen as he crashed (sorry, had a minor off) on my watch. Then the plan was to go up to the barn (via anglezark, but I've not told him that yet) to get him back on the bike and going round corners.

You are still welcome to come to his and then head up if you want, we'll only be about an hour sorting his out.

Nice one, if you get sick of the popping (if you're a fool) then stick some siliocn on the conections as it's just air leaking into the system and igniting the fuel that's in there.

Just stick some plugs in and stop bitching I ride with plugs in when I'm not using baffles on the trumpet, they are quite fruity to say the least.

Or don't bother and you won't hear anything in a few months.

It's always good to do it yourself, but I hope you didn't mistake my offer to help for doing it for you. It's usually a case of pointing a finger and saying hit/cut/screw that bit there.

Or in Lee's case, pointing a finger/camera and trying to be sympathetic whilts p*****g myself inside

Yeah, took us a while though.

*someone* forgot to get new indies, they also decided to fit a pressure switch to the rear brake without having any replacement brake fluid for when we bled the system.

So it took us about an hour of riding round to get what was needed, then managed to get it all sorted plus a couple of those *while you're here, any ideas about* jobs.

made it up to the barn for a shakedown and I made him go round a roundabout half a dozen times in the wet to get him used to right handers again.
