You want a change from a twin, get a V4.
Did you get yours brand new, or with a few miles on the treads?

675 is alright, but definetly not what you are looking for! i would hate to do more than a few hundred on one, too small!

i cant emphasise 750 enough really. but i do hear that the 954 blade is very similar and a very good bike.

I have always fancied an 04 R1, just never had the cash (to insure it).

and solid suspension, eg the standard springs on a mile are the right spec for my light 17 stone

Mej - I rode 2,200 through France Italy and Switzerland in June and July on my 675 and I managed to get off it in one piece without major aches. It depends totally what use you want to put it to. Have you ever ridden a 675? For any distance, let alone 'a few hundred', still less a few thousand? Feel free to come and ride mine, and you can then write with authority instead of surmise. Besides, the OP is 5'8". At 1.8m, I'm just shy of six feet. A 675 would fit him perfectly. Maybe it wouldn't fit you, I don't know, but come and try it all the same.

As long as I can try your SM

It's got a fair bit of weight behind it and quite a forward weight bias too, the springs don't feel so hard on the mille, but like any they are much better with a bit of a fettle in the valves.

yeah my brother has one, i have ridden a fair few times. Not thousands though.

im 6,1 and i just couldnt get used to it!! Sounds awesome and has a fair bit of power, but felt too focused for the road, felt like it belonged on the track.

im gonna be biased towards 750s as i loved my gixxer, it was good on long days, short days, 2 up, never put much luggage on it, seat was comfy, plenty of wind protection and i rarely ever wanted more speed on it (still would have a thou if i could afford insurance)!

that would make sense, although on the (old) rsvzone a few had softer springs put in, i want mine done to the sv at some point as im not getting rid of the sv any time soon
