When I surrendered my FAC, I was suddenly in the position where I had about 8000 rounds of .45"/.44"/9mm/.357"/7.62mm and 0.22". All were legal one day and illegal for me to own the next.

A quick call to Lancs firearms dept who had been brilliant issuing an extension to my certificate for the 10 months I was in China over the phone and I was able to drop them off.

The silly bits of the law as it stood was I was a reloader, I had the powder, primers, lead and cases to knock out a few thousand all legal to own, until you assemble them.

Lol, my dad is the most law abiding guy going, he wont even fiddle his tax return and he's an accountant! He's got nothing to hide & it won't cause an issue even if they did.

Just gave them in and as I was explaining I had some shotgun cartidges and getting them out of my pocket one by one the look of horror on the policeman's face was hilarious as I'd just been to the bank to get petty cash for work and I had multiple hundreds of pounds in my jacket pocket trying to fall out every where too I must have looked proper dodgey!
The other person working behind the desk came over almost as if to supervise lol! Filled out a form saying I'd handed them in etc and explained the whole situation. They were very happy with it all and said they'd dispose of them for me.
