I haven't read all the posts in detail, so forgive me if I'm covering old ground. Have you done a compression test? As you probably know, for it to run, you need compression, fuel, a spark, and the timing to be correct, then it'll run. I would try some Bradex Easystart. If the bike fires up with this, then the compression, and sparking can be ruled out, generally speaking, leaving the fault to lie somewhere in the fuelling.

I cant see it being a compression problem, i have meticulously rebuilt the engine by the book. I really can see it being a fuel issue.

Whats the method for spraying the start spray in? eg. where and how quickly to start up the engine?

The instructions are on the can, but from what I remember, you spray into the air intake for 2 seconds, then start straight away. If the engine fires up, it will only run for a few seconds, but that "should" indicate a fuel supply problem. At least you'll know then the spark is there. I would prop the tank up, take the air filter out, and spray into the intake manifold. £4.49 from Halfords, not cheap as such, but might be worth a punt?

Actually you've already checked for a spark I think. Still worth a shot I reckon.

Aye its worth a shot, that way i can suss out if the ignition timing is out, really i should be getting the injectors sonically cleaned. I'm trying to source somewhere for this preferably in the scotland area who have motorcycle injector experience.

http://www.asnu.com/centers/scotland.htm

The suzuki & local garages must have had this work done so i might contact them first to see if they know anyone nearer!

I'm now scratching my head wondering how you can make the sv fuel ignition timing 'wrong'

don't know if its feasible but i seem to recall that the sv wont start with the throttle open from cold. so this leaves the start function, if the tickover screw is not set right then it might be possible that the TPS is saying 'no squirt' to the brain.

personally, as i said before for £50 you could get another set of TB's.

even if the timing on the engine was out (which you would know by now as it would have clattered) it would still squirt fuel.

this may also be a silly question.. but how good a condition is the battery?

Pretty sure the tickover screw hasnt moved at all - if someone can give me a measurement for the gap at the body i can check it.

I dont think the bodies are at fault, it's going to be around 30-40 quid to get the injectors checked, so it's a toss up!

Yeah if it wasnt time right i would know, ive cranked it over loads!.

Batteries fine, it's been on and off the optimate all through the rebuild and the reading with a meter is strong enough.

Can you describe more what i meant by it wont start with the 'throttle open from cold'. Also, i was thinking even if the tickover screw was out it would still fire up then die as there would be no immediate revving to keep the engine running until the ecm calculates the engine is warm enough.

ignore that crap i wrote coz wherever i got the info is utter bull. i have just been down to the LU and tried it. yup it starts with half throttle no problem.

i think you have narrowed it down to the injectors not opening. its pretty rare for crap to block injectors unless the strainer/filter in the pump was totally fubar.

i have on rare occasions had tabs push back on connectors causing no contact. but this has been mainly on naff car stereo installs.
