Khyam Biker tent. Up in 2 minutes & packs away to virtually nothing & weighs the same

Mister C, that pack size for your tent is huge, it might not weigh much but the pack size looks as big as my vango Icarus 500 5 man tent.

My vango banshee 300 is a third of that, fits in my top box.

Your definition of virtually nothing is WAY different to mine...

The TBS Micro is Total weight: 2.9 kg Packed size: 40 x 15 cm

LOL

Khyam Biker is a good tent, but it really doesn't pack down small!

I was used to big, cheap tents, so I will take back the "packs down to nothing" statement.

This months Ride (August issue already!) have got a biker tent review as a main feature. Their top ones are;
1 - Nomad Tenere Expedition £349 (22/25)
2 - Khyam Biker £146.99 (21/25)
=3 - Vango Omega 250 (20/25)
=3 - Wild Country Aspect 3 £250 (20/25)

1 and 2 got recomended triangles but an equal 8th place (Easycamp Shadow £59.99 18/25) got the Best Buy one. They are all two man tents but the Easycamp is more suited to one according to the review. And the Nomad is tall with room for your bike inside the 'porch'.

Vango omega is great.
Plus you want to compare that with something for 3x the price and more?

MSR Hubba... it's a bit more expensive than the others mentioned.

I am still using my old Oneplanet Gunyah... probably one of the lightest and most compact tents around.

For really compact and efficient it is hard to go past a bivy. Mine is an Outdoor Research Advanced Bivy. I can't fault it rain or shine.

Most people that I see out on the roads pack way too much junk on their bikes and a lot of the useful stuff is just more junk that weighs too much and takes up too space.
If you want efficient then think hiking gear.

Meh I'd see efficiency as having a nice comfortable time too. It would be pretty inefficient for me to ride all the way to Scotland to ride like a girl because I was too knackered.

You want a nice size tent that gives you space to dump all your gear in porch cos bike kit takes up a lot more room than hiking kit.

Chris, are you are just trying to justify being cheap and messy?
