I'll admit I often wonder if certain drivers will do that when I've overtaken them and then been caught at traffic lights. Not had it yet but at least I know my wonderings do happen so pays to be cautious!

I find it all quite entertaining, at least until one of the muppets actually hurts me...

Friday I was out with the missus on the back, start of the journey was along a rather busy motorway. Traffic was flowing okay at around 60 when everyone started braking hard. I had enough of a gap between me and the BMW in front to be able to brake (pretty hard) but comfortably when I hear the screech from behind. By the time I turn to look round, the guy in the Astra behind is on the horn and remonstrating at me. Not to mention literally 10 inches from my back tire, with the sweet smell of burning rubber in the air.

Apparently it was my fault for braking hard, not his for leaving not enough gap. I let him roll up beside, shout a little while I smiled and gave him the thumbs up, then let him know that next time I would be sure to plough into the car in front as to not inconvenience him again...

T**t...

This makes me really nervous even in the cage.

Yes . It is worrying but on the bike you can sneak up the gap when you hear it.
You just wait for the bang in the car.(uesusly at the Witham A12 turn off. 3 times 2 cars written off).

Sounds to me like a pikey (traveller). We've got loads of them in this area and they all treat the roads like they own them and everyone else as scum they can cut up and intimidate. Seriously, you would not believe the appalling driving I witness outside my shop from them every single day. Trouble is they all have good memories and mobile phones. You upset one and you've got half of County Cork wanting to either tarmac your driveway, or sell you dags and lucky heather.... you'll never get rid of the b'stards or beat them, so best thing is to either get well out of their way and let them pass, or turn off and wait for them to carry on the way they were going.

Occasionally they will follow someone for fun and sport, so take to a pedestrian area they can't get a van full of kids down, but never ever stop for them or give them abuse.

Lozzo that explains a lot!

God how I detest tailgaters!!! One of these days I will literally get off the bike and start the fight!!!!!! He basically was sitting on my a**e and couldn't understand why I was leaving a gap between me and the car in front. How can anyone be THAT stupid!!! Surely you don't need a hell of a lot of intelligence to reason that a gap must exist between two vehicles AAARRGGHHH!!! MAKES ME MAD!!!! I think anyone caught tailgating should get points on their licence! It's as dangerous as drink driving!
