Sorry to hear about your accident Simon. The press make such a big deal about how much better french health care is compared to the NHS. when your back on the board youll have to let us know how well they treated you.
Anyway glad to hear you in good spirits and I hope you have a swift recovery.

Ouchy!

Good luck with the recovery Simon.

How long does it take to recover from a broken leg? I'm guessing this rules you out of the nurburgring trip? Never mind, always next year

Hmmmmm french nurses wearing sexy french underwear....

Guys I've only done what I would expect any mate to do. I did sort of organise the trip and as such do feel some responsibility even though both Simon and his wife have said otherwise. Don't forget that Leigh (Baldyman) was with me too, and he made the call to Lesley as he had met her before.

When things like this happen it does make you think. Before I organise another serious group ride I will expect everybody to have details of next of kin and contact numbers, which was a good point that Leigh made to me on Saturday night. It is essential for 2 reasons:

1) Somebody needs to contact your family
2) It will give somebody a clue of what to do next

Anyway, it's not all bad, we watched the GP from a TV in a cafe while having lunch, and the road from gace to the hospital was fun to ride

Damn, unlucky Simon. Glad it wasnt more than 1 broken bone. Sometimes the most easy bend are the ones that catch you out, when the conditions or road surface are bad.

Well done Steve and Leigh for taking care of things.

ah no Terrible news. But excellent to see he was well looked after - well down Steve and Leigh

French hospitals look great... untill you start getting fed sheeps brain, this is after you've just had brain scans, etc. I hope he gets nicer food than I did

Take it easy out there people, and when riding in a pack it's not your responsibilty to keep up with the rest - ride at your own pace and stayed relaxed.
