Update

Been out today, rode a route I think would be good

Started at Podimore Roundabout Little chef just out of Yeovil, Thought this might make a good start point as has lots of parking, somewhere for food and fuel.

Rode down A372 to langport and then onto Bridgwater Via westzoyland
Bridgwater to Minhead on A39, then on to lynton and up Porlock Hill and across Exmoor, Picked up A399 lovely road, and then onto A361 to Tiverton, Up the M5 to taunton Across A358 to Chard, down the A30 to Crewkerne, then Onto Bridport ( I forget the road number ) then Across the Coast road through Burton Bradstock and Abbotsbury and into Weymouth, Then to Dorchester and then A37 back to my house in Yeovil

Plus Points

A372 nice and twisy good road I know it well and love it
A39 after a while is lovely especially down in to Lynmouth
A339 is great to nice and twisty but easy to read the road
Crewkerne to Bridport and then everything after this is a great road I know it well and love it

Minus Points

A39 from bridgewater for a while is sh*te to much holiday traffic
A361 is fast, but dull
M5 I hate riding on motorways its boring

214 miles in total most of which done at my kind of speed which is very naughty in places, left home at 12:30 and didnt get home again till 17:30

Makes for along day, I stopped once for fuel and a cup of tea and some cake.

I think I am going try and work out away to skip the A361 / M5 bit and maybe cut it short

I need some pointers,

1. Does this sound like to far to do in a day, I will schedule in a lunch stop and some tea break stops to

2. How fast do you guys want to ride, I cant really judge as the SWS Wales trip was wet and everybody rides slower in the wet. When I say naughty speeds i mean up past the 80mph level. I am concscious that not everybody will want to or feel comfy riding at that kind of speed and I want to make sure everybody has a good day out and enjoys themselves, the countryside ( theres some fantastic views on this route ) and doesnt have to ride faster than they want to to get round and get home at a reasonable hour

Any feedback at this stage most welcomed

Cheers
Fizz

All sounds good to me, most of us won't be travelling to far to get there so distance shouldn't be to much of a problem. As long as we have a few breaks so i can eat sweets at regular intervals i don't mind. And as for naughty speeds, thats why we ride bikes surely.
