You might have a point there Mr Henry, but you could also argue that putting those players in the team will help them develop as players. Surely they've got to start somewhere?
Some might say Rob Burrow isn't yet fully developed... ![]() |

Jase...There are always individuals with that something extra. I know from my own experience at playing at a decent amateur level, that the conditioning and power of the modern rugby league forward makes them a formidable opponent.
Hell I remember us having an Aussie and a Kiwi play for us for a couple of months,(they were over trying to win contracts with Chorley at the time) I could always match up to the biggest of guys I played against, but these two made you wince every time they tackled someone....and they were struggling to get started with a lowly pro side at the time. ![]() |

I have somewhat of an understanding of that, playing rugby myself, but I am very much of the opinion that professionals (even the youngsters) are trained a hell of a sight harder and are very well prepared for the modern game.
I know a lad who signed on for the bulls academy, and he wasn't a small lad then. But they put them through their paces and beef them up in preparation. I know you're never quite prepared for the big time, but most players that have been introduced to Superleague in their teens have managed to more than hold their own. Bear in mind that I'm not being predjudice at all in this comment, but young kids are also less likely to be badly hurt in the game as their bones aren't as brittle. I'm sure THE Wigan lads will be a damn tough side when they mature a little more, from what I've seen they already look like they can handle it but just don't quite have the staying power and strength in depth. |

Jase your little error is now forgiven! I didn't want people getting the wrong impression! However Mr.Wilky is happy to align himself with the cherry and whites.
I was just being sporting earlier in mentioning Wigan's present situation. A good competition is when all of the teams are able to fully give of their best in my opinion. ![]() |

![]() I know what you're saying, it's never nice to see a team get whipped. Although, I reckon this season in SL could be the closest one yet. Well, bar Saints at the minute who look to be far and away superior to every other team in the league. (That's not me brown nosing, they just are) |

Jase...But as you know a lot can happen ina SL season. Many teams play and gradually improve in order to qualify for the play offs and then have a good run.
Saints would have won that last season if they had not been knobbled by that thug Newton when they played Wigan. ![]() |
