My Daughter is profoundly deaf, (born with Sensori-neural loss - faulty cochlears). She gets by really well, and became a Mum in December! Baby is hearing. My Daughter doesnt drive yet, through circumstances (has had lessons though) but has plenty of deaf friends who do.

I dont know of any of her friends that ride though. Maybe its worth having a word with RAD about radio aids (like the ones at school, - I dont know if you used them?) adapted for motorcycle instruction? just a thought - I dont know if there is such a thing?

Happy pillioning in the meantime though
I did use a radio-aid at school to cut out background noise but i hated it because all i could hear was the teacher! Which is quite dangerous because if the fire alarm went off or something i wouldnt have heard (although i obviously would have run out the building when everyone else did!).

Really? thats cool about your daughter perhaps she'l learn to drive soon now she has a baby? might be easier getting from A to B with all the baby stuff! Its good shes proud to be deaf though; i know of a girl (through one of my lecturers) who really resents being deaf and as a result shes very fragile and has alot of problems (though i dont know what exactly)

I do hope she gets back to the driving lessons as they live in the middle of nowhere! Still gives me a good excuse to get on my bike and blast over there - its a nice ride
