Try a decent player not M$ rubbish. VLC seems to play just about anything short of scribbles on the back of a fag packet. And or go look for a codec pack.

Also a tool called AVIcodec is useful for identifying what codec you need to play a file.

Nope. Plugin & go. Told you that yours was inferior.

As 2mths has said, install AVIcodec. Marvellous software that. Throw your movie/auido file into it, and it'll tell you the codecs it needs, and if you have said codec installed or not.

However, your error message tells you one of the missing codecs, IMA ADPCM (11), which is an audio codec. This codec (and probably any others that you're missing) can be found in the Klite Codec Pack, available here.

Can you tell I do a lot of things with codecs?

HTH.

Do you mean at work or getting dodgy downloads to work?

I have tried millions of codec packs (including K-Lite (I had an old version already, but downloaded latest)) and various analysis software, but I am still out of luck (Perhaps I could have spent more time trying to understand what the analysis stuff was trying to tell me, but I looked up the codecs it appeared to think it was coded in) ... there is a chance it is just my PC as in the end I was getting errors uninstalling stuff ... or I just missed something obvious to others??

I'll upload the original files and perhaps others can have a crack .. as I am about to throw the thing in the bin I am that piddle off with it!!

Remember - my remit ... MUST find a codec so it works with standard Windows programs ... I am not interested in other software or converting it prior, that just complicates life!!

Sorry for slight hijack but would a normal digital camcorder work with the sport-cam to capture vidoes? Something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-GR-D70-D...3720135&sr=1-1

And then I could use it as a normal camcorder on holiday, etc too?

Cheers,
Matt

If it has AV input, it'll work

It saves in two formates .asf and .avi

Example .asf

http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/191...P0005-ASF.html

example .avi (I am obviously aware that vidio works here, but there is still a problem with sound/codecs)

http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/191...P0006-AVI.html

REMEMBER I want this to work with Windows Media Player AND Windows Movie Maker WITHOUT any pre-prcessing ... I just need whatever codecs windows is complaining about ...
