Lupo's got his Op tomorrow...

Had a phone call from the vets at 1.30 he was just coming round from the anasthetic. The op went with no problems at all but he is, obviously, in a bit of pain so has pescribed some strong painkillers for him. I have to pick him up at 3.45 just before start of afternoon surgery.

Lupo is not going to be shown, or bred from so no point keeping them, and as i mentioned above, Alaskan Malamutes are known for there same sex aggression ( in lupo's case aggression towards other males), he hasn't developped this yet and we want to stop it before it starts usually at around 12 to 14 months old. Not only that but he works with Ranger, another entire Male and i would really hate it if they fell out as they get on so well now .

I just can't wait to go get him so i'm off now

Glad is seems all OK Sam, took Skittles for her 2nd injection yesterday so should be able to take her out in 10 days time.

Well i just got him home and he's fast asleep in the middle of the living room. He's got his massive collar on and isn't too keen on it. He's doing fine, just hot and uncomfortable. Wish i could do something more for him, i have the fan on full so he has some cool air, and he has plenty of water . Managed to grab a neighbour to help lift him out of the car, and he was very happy to see me when i got to the vets, he even managed a wag of the tail .

He is still unsteady on his feet and he looks drunk, droopy eyes and falling over, he is also crying . I have to give him boiled chicken and rice for dinner and just give him mouthfulls at a time as he might not be able to keep it down. And he starts on his anti inflamitories and painkillers tomorrow morning... non of this hiding pills in food, these ones supposedly taste like treats so thats one obstacle we haven't got.

Again thanks for all your kind comments, i know it was a standard operation, but it doesn't stop me from worrying. I have to keep checking him every 30 seconds or so just to make sure he is alright... i know he will be otherwise the vet would have kept him in but i just have to make sure!!

We have a followup on Sunday so hopefully by then he will be feeling a little but better

I would be too after hat he's just had done to him!
