Sorry, I'm another that just can't pick a single one.
From the 70s it would have to be Porridge, Rising Damp or Fawlty Towers From the 70s/80s Open All Hours From the 90s Blackadder/Bottom Currently, My Family. I went to see Bottom Live: Hooligans Island at The Liverpool Empire many moons ago, and I have never laughed so much in all my life ... if you ever thought the original was funny, then the ad-libs in the live versions are just absolute class and worth the ticket-price alone. I have the entire Blackadder series on DVD and it STILL makes me laugh, even though I've seen all the episodes at least half a dozen times (and some a lot more). I'm not a big fan of "only fools", however it has contributed some of the finest comedy moments in British TV history ... Del boy falling thru the hatch and "Trigger" looking around to see where he'd gone = PURE CLASS. Also where Rodney and Del dressed as Batman and Robin are running thru the streets and they scare off a mugger and then run into what they think is a fancy-dress party only to discover its really a wake! PMSL (almost literally!). |

Has to be a toss up between Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and Grownups.

The Good Life, Red Dwarf, Father Ted. The Holy Trinity
![]() Probably the Good Life is the best of the lot... It's just superb, it's aged but not dated. Father Ted's obviously genius, Red Dwarf had about 5 superb series and a couple of less good ones. Other ones that haven't been mentioned... Black Books, The Thick of It, and Drop the Dead Donkey. There's been a couple of disparaging comments about American sitcoms... I give you South Park and the Simpsons.
