Yep, i've gone for this option, much more preferable than 3 points.

But it was interesting that there was a £30 difference between one county and another.

In sunny Suffolk, it's £102, Essex £62 & Norfolk £70.

Yessir. On the 29 January 2006 I was camerad doing 61 in a 50 limit, on the A449 between Worcester and Kidderminster. Bang to rights. 3 points + £60 fine.

Can we stop refering to them as Safety Camera Vans please. They are nothing more than Stealth Tax Vans. The safety aspect they harp on about is all bullsh1t. If they were the slightest bit interested in safety they'd spend the money made from these things on driver re-education and improving the diabolical roads we have to suffer.

Until they do so I shall continue to do my protesting by riding past every forward facing camera I can at above the posted speed limit.

I find it quote interesting that so many people think speed camera. Vans and fixed cameras are referred to as money generators of stealth tax units. They are most definately an imperfect solution to a possibly over emphisied problem but any figures I've seen the installation and running costs always far exceed any revenue generated. So much so I think a couple of the southern councils have removed them all.

Do you honestly ever believe any figures the government - be it local or Westminster - decide to make public? Those they do are almost invariably proven to be complete and utter fabrications when challenged by experts.
