Just paint a load of white lines over the first, unused filter lane. One pot of paint, job's a good 'un. Except that's probably about £25000 to a council.

Not quite, but you'd be staggered at how much it costs to put in a simple pedestrian crossing, just a pair of lights, white lines and some shell grip...

The best bit is they only installed it here because it's opposite the school and the parents were complaining that when they parked illegally in the youth centre car park they had to cross the road to drop little tarquin off

Last time I checked, £40,000 for a zebra crossing. Or might have been pelican, I forget now.
