Woah..that's scary deja vu there, I had the same sort of thing happen going TO my parents for dinner (Hit a curb and did an evil kenevil past a bus to the cries of Wooooooooo from the passengers), did land it by with now funny shaped wheels...

Glad you're OK...'ish,., worth trying to talk to the council about that at all?
I mean odds are you're better talking to the curb but it's worth a shot.

From a highways design perspective I can't believe a kerbed traffic island can be legal without some retro-reflective signage, was it broken or simply absent? Or did you not have time to look while flying past?

I'd be onto your local highways dept complaining
If it's anything like Hertfordshire council there excuse as I watched 3 cars diasbled on a traffic island (me on the bike, 2 cars with burst tyres, 1 with burst tyres and severe body damage (ripped the paneling off the side) is sorry we check every 4 months and it was fine the last time we looked, go talk to the highways agency or police about it....

Bad luck El Saxo. I'd get some photos of the area ASAP to support any claim you may have for them not replacing the bollard if it was there once.

To be fair, if they checked every mile of the road network every day their entire budget would be wasted...

If people actually had the nous to report things that aren't right they generally get fixed quite quickly...

Just got off the phone with Cheshire police, they were basically just ringing as a courtesy to let me know that they aren't prosecuting me for anything, which is always nice to hear!

The guy who called me was a biker himself though and gave me some useful contact info for the council & the police/council liaison officer - basically he told me that if i c.c. my letter to both the above parties it is much more likely it will be acted on.

I'm going to take some photos of the junction tonight hopefully too.

When he says that he's going to take some photos tonight I'm guessing he means that I'm doing it.

I'll get me camera

P.S., TLS/Ophic, can we keep this on topic please? I'd rather this thread didn't devolve into mindless drivel when it's supposed to be about mocking Saxo's stunting skills

Gutted, I was going to ask that whoever is taking him, videos him getting his camera out, getting the camera out of the case, turning it on, setting the camera back to picture mode after your pocket has turned it onto something else and then taking the picture all with one hand..

Now THAT'D be a good Youtube vid
