If you donate bonemarrow you can never have chemotherapy again. (if I remember rightly).

I will check with the missus tonight. She works on a young persons cancer unit.

Fair play to those who ar eon it though, but that explains the low numbers on the register.
Thanks for that!!

Food for thought...

Like many people I always said to myself that I should give blood and also like many people I never actually got around to it.

Then one day after an unscheduled high speed meeting with an uninsured escort full chavs I woke up in hospital with several bags of blood being pumped into me to counter act all the blood that was leeking out of me internally.

Now I have been given blood and LIFE I would love to return the favour but am not allowed as the blood I received might have contained hepitites, HIV or BSC. Thats why I suppose they are so stringent now.

I am greatfull for every ounce of blood I was given (and the cadaver ligaments used to rebuild my knee) so thanks to other people generosity I am alive and can even walk (well it's more of a hobble). I dont care if they are short tall fat thin black white gay strait or into cricket or not. Thay save lives and they saved mine. Thank you all.

So unless you want to feel as guilty as me for being a reciever and not being able to return the favour I suggest you give some blood ASAP.

BLOOD, It's nicer to give than receive.

No guilt required!!

You sound like you ARE grateful.. & most importantly.. you are here to tell the tale!!
