I must admit I read the posted, replied and had a quick drive by at lunch time cause I couldn't work out which one it was but couldn't see the hole in the road, having said that the KFC was lovely. I didn't see any missing traffic bollards but as it was day light then I wouldn't have know if the light in it was working and tbh I could have been looking in the wrong place. mmmmm hot wings

Well, I've been & surveyed the scene, and I stand corrected. That bollard is still there after all, albeit unlit.

So i am officially a 'shortened form of Richard', and it's all my fault.

Next question is - I've checked my insurance and it turns out i took out the additional helmet & leathers cover. Basically I have to pay a £50 excess and my kit will be replaced up to £1000 (easily enough to cover my lid & textiles that i was wearing).

What i'm not sure of though is can i claim on that cover without affecting my no claims bonus on my main bike insurance policy? the H&L cover is underwritten by a different company than my main policy so should that mean the two are totally separate?

I've checked over the SV with Neeja this evening and the damage isn't too bad, so i don't want to have to claim on my main bike insurance policy if I can help it...

My helmet and leather cover was underwritten by another provider. It was seperate to my bike policy. I looked into it when I fell off. It had no bearing on my no claims.

Carol Nash by any chance?

nah i'm with Bikesure (which is basically Adrian Flux).

H&L cover is underwritten by Equity Red Star and main bke policy by someone else.

least you didnt come off too bad mate.

i broke my collar bone few years back, it sucks, cause they dont plaster it, make sure you keep it in the sling and dont try and use it too much, mine never healed properly cause i used to take the sling off when it felt ok (pain killer kicking in) and use it.

If it makes you feel better whilst I went past the one I think it was a car did the same thing and only just missed said bollard, in the day light.
