Well perhaps be a bit more generous in your comments. Even if you possess a greater knowledge, its pretty condescending to use the school master tone. The only intention of my comments were to suggest an alternative. I'll hold my hands up and take new info on board but i won't try to rubbish someone else for having an different opinion. Have we said enough yet? I hope so.

Anyway, the bike looks great! Does Todge have a finish date in mind? And how will it be tested? I would love to see how it performs.

Thanks for all the comments and the arguments. Ill try to answer some of the questions.
There wont be any fancy wheels going on it. Its a design exercise more then a throw as much money at it as possible custom job, so the standard stock Suzuki items are fine. If/when the time comes to put it on a track and race it, then something lighter may appear on it. It is still work in progress, so more bits will be made to go on, including some rearsets. Finish date - ha, that was last year! The plan is now to get a bike up and running before the end of July. To do that a proper frame and subframe need to be made as well as manufacturing an aluminum fuel tank and battery box. I did mention it before, but do people think 10.8 litres of fuel is reasonable or should I try to get some more volume? As for testing - I want to get some miles on the frame make sure its right. Some of that will probably on track as well as the road. |

Throw a K and N filter on it and you can lose the standard airbox with no detriment , that way you could extend the tank and put a bit more fuel in the bike . The pointy SV can get about 120 miles before the reserve comes on and that is with a 17 litre tank , I recon you could get close to that with keeping your Tank profile and extending it underneath out of sight .

It could be worth looking at the design of the 1098/ 1198/ F4 tanks and airboxes to increase the fuel capacity. A KTM 640/ 690 is around 11 litres (to the bones).
With YC on the tank size i'd say 17l (14 with 3 reserve)
