i do like to give a nod to passing motorbikers coming the other way when circumstances permit - i've ridden past three motorbike cops recently and was wondering if it was common practice to give them a nod or wave as we passed....i went past one down chiswick high road when i was filtering a little bit too robustly but saw him & nodded at him - he gave me a dirty stare then nodded back
![]() the other two cops have ignored me which i suppose is a good thing in general! or should this nodding practice be confined to beamer riders only? in which case i shall desist immediately.... |

I nod at bike cops out of respect but I think to become a qualified bike cop you have to have a spinal disability that prevents you nodding as none of them have ever nodded me

They are scum, don't give them the time of day ... they rank even lower on the respect scale than learners ... far lower ...

I nod at anyone on two powered wheels.
Except chavscooterundonelidtrackiesandtrainers riders And Harley riders And I'maridinggodsoIovertakeeverythingusingjusttheback wheel riders And I'maridinggodsoIdon'tneedtowearanythingotherthanat shirtandshorts riders And those stupid electric-motor-fitted pushbike riders Most of them (including a number of bike cops, most recently on Monday) nod back. |

I've nodded and had my nod returned a few times.

I rekon it depends on what part of the country you're in. If you get a busy, stressed out cop he aint gonna nod - London seems pretty busy to me

Yeah, I've had the odd 4rsehole, but then I've worked for bigger ones too.... They have a job to do, be polite and don't give them reason and generally they're fine. And there's at least a couple on here.... . |
