Default Free stuff and selling stuff

Might as well try and get rid of the stuff in my garage never used. If anyone is interested in anything, I'll post photos:

- Big fridge freezer. Very tall, quite wide. Fridge compartment is larger than freezer section. Rough around the edge (marks from moving house), one shelf borken I think but in working order. Ideal as temporary fridge freezer or second garage fridge freezer. FREE

- Halfords Apollo mountain bike. £200 one. Bought a couple of years ago for some reason that never came to pass. NEVER used. Literally, I road it round the block, then it went in the garage never to be used again. It'll probably have the largest frame/wheel size they do. It still has barcode tags on it. £70

- Homebase Petrol Lawnmower. Will check the model if anyone is interested. £150 worth. I used to rent a house with a big uneven lawn but now the leccy mower is far more suitable and this is overkill. Probably done about 10-20 mowings and about 10-20 tanks of petrol. Never serviced but starts and runs perfect. £60

- Cheap flimsy but perfectly usable table football table with removable legs. Good for kids. FREE

- 2 massive bits of tree. We're talking 3 foot diameter x 4 foot long bits of tree trunk that me and Spank broke our spines on. If anyone wants them for some sort of structural purpose or to carve and dry out for fire wood, they are FREE. May need to be hacked up to get them out through the garage. If someone wants them whole I'll measure them up and see if this is the case.

Interested in anything, give me a shout.

I believe it is of the tree species. Big tree species to be precise.

Since you're asking, I assume you are considering making something ornamental or furniture out of it. In which case forget that. It's not really in the right condition for that even if it's a decent wood.

Simon, Try licking the wood then let Gav know what it tastes like. From there he may be able to deduce the breed of wood we're talking about here.

I've never seen the thing with leaves on but I can tell you it wasn't any sort of conifer.

Probably not a sycamore either given the girth. Might have been an oak or chestnut or something.

Like I said, give it a lick. If it tastes a bit like Chardonay then it's Oak. If it tastes like a topic then it's hazelnut. If it tastes like dog wee then it's probably a tree.

Silver birch are famous for faking it. Willows are a bit adventurous. Report back your findings.
