Default Annual running costs

What do you guys and gals reckon it costs to run an SV650 for 1 year doing about 8000 miles per year, including all costs except for mods i.e. insurance, tyres, petrol, servicing, depreciation etc. etc. ?

Don't do it! Don't think about it... Its not worth thinking about. Well thats my motto anyway. It would scare me if I added up how much I spend on the bike a year. But it's all worth it...

Chucca, you're probably right and btw, thanks for the advice for my Scotland trip. The MacDonald Hotel, Kinlochleven was great and a fine place to start the adventure from

In the ~15,000 miles I've done on my ZX9 in the last 2 years I reckon I've spent about £2000 on fuel alone. I'm going to leave it at that cause if I added up everything I don't think I'd ride as much as I do at the moment.

£2000 not including any trinkets is my guess, will there be a prize?

JulesW, no problem advice is free

What I can say about the street is is costs me £180 a month before it even turns a wheel. Thats just the loan and insurance. So far I've done nearly 6,000 miles this year and I don't take the bike to work. This weekend I'm guessing on another 1,300 on the total. So the bike will need a major service. Hey Ho

Suddenly chucca realises why he's always skint. but happy.

mine is for every £ i put in the petrol tank i have to stick in a jar for running costs which include insurance, tyres , oil, filters, brakes etc.etc. now if i could get 10k from a rear tyre it would half the costs.

if i go out for a day and spend £30 on fuel than i have to put £30 in the jar so my day costs me £60 buuuut i never have to look for money when servicing/tyres/insurance comes around. i avg 6k a year on the bike. if i done more miles then the 'put in jar' money would drop due to spreading out the insurance, my insurance is peanuts though.

Hey Bibio, I just worked out all the running costs, should've read your post first because it works out at very nearly same as the petrol costs. £1 for the tank and £1 for the jar.

I am going to do this also, £1 for fuel is £1 on bike savings.
