Question Play in front brake disc

Hi
Just had bike MOT'd today which it passed ok.

Gave the bike a oil & filter and general clean over and noticed that one of the front disks has a fair amount of play in it .

It appears that the bobbin has play and can moved disk about 1mm front/back and side / side

This can't be right ? Should this have passed the MOT ?

Can I replace bobbins or is it new brake disks

Or is it Safe to leave as TBH brakes are fine ?

Just fitted new tyres / brake pads / worm drive , kind of wishing I had got rid of the bike before spending what willl 500 quid if I do need new disks ...

Cheers Steveg

Its not ideal but isnt an MOT failure.

I had this on my stock discs on my racebike. They were fine for a season and then I changed them. The brakes worked fine apart from they clanked when I rode over a few bumps at low speed. They ended up being just like a fully floating set.

Keep an eye on it and if you start to get a judder from the front brake then its time to consider changing the disc. You can change just one disc too if you have to because of budget.

Used discs come up every now and again on ebay just be aware you could end up buying warped ones!

I replaced the bobbins on my curvey, when the wavey spring washers broke up, with a kit from Stealth Products. I have a spare set as I changed to Honda wheels and never used the second set I bought for spare wheels. I payed £42.83 for them but you can have them half price if you want them. There are 12 bobbins and more than enough wavey washers and retaining circlips. If you are interested then check with stealth that they are the sme for your pointy and PM me.
