Projects: trackbikes/restorations/rebuilds/overhauls?
As the poll asks really, just wondered how many of us org'ers have or are currently working on projects?
There seems to be quite a few people on here who have some on going projects which look absolutely ace. I tried my hand at a kitcar a few years ago but a lack of time/space/knowledge meant a kitcar wasn't for me. 2 wheels seems to make so much more sense - easier to dismantle & rebuild than cars, easier to move the bits around (ever tried to lift a 1.8 ford zetec engine without ripping abs?!) and doesn't require ridiculously sized tools like 18ft breaker bars to get them apart.. So what have you got right now/had a go at in the past/given up on and sold as a botched project? Some of the projects I've come across on here: Danf1234 - RGV restoration: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...hlight=project Irksy's respray: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=151901 SV rory - respraying and fixing bodywork: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=140015 Muzikill - gearbox & selector fix up: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=156046 (YC has his own option because I've been in the garage of doom and seen the remains of engines & frames scattered around like a biking massacre)

Will soon be stripping down the R6 Engine and replacing entire gearbox, any probably some other bits like Clutch etc.
My gear selectors are worn which is causing the bike to jump out of second gear.... So dam anoying. |

I know your pain mate, I know your pain. You're only down the road, let me know if you need any parts. You got some ring compressors for the pistons?

Re: Projects: trackbikes/restorations/rebuilds/overhaul....
you dont have an option for - 'Done them in the past with varying degrees of success, even completed some of them. Not got one on the go at the moment, destined to do one in the near future because its like an itch you just have to scratch.'
But if you did I would tick it. |

Wasnt intending on taking the head off, drop the engine out, whip the sump off and split the engine that way. Apparently its possible. Im trying to get the last bit out of her before winter, shes in a right state atm. |
