Bit of a restoration project.
Haven't posted on here in a longtime, but here goes...
I'm just starting on the restoration of a Honda C110, with a view to entering next years ACU National Rally on it. A C110 is a 4 stroke 50cc push rod single, mine is from 1963. Makes a rip snorting 5bhp (if I'm optimistic). Next year is 50 years since my Dad, and five mates, entered the National Rally on a fleet of C110's. They had them on loan from Honda as a publicity stunt. They successfully completed the 600 miles in 24hrs on them, with most getting Gold Awards and the team coming second overall. Dad is currently fighting advanced prostate cancer, so my plan is to use my entry to raise a bit of sponsorship for Prostate Cancer UK and overall awareness of the disease. I'll sell the bike at the end of it, with the money from the sale going to the charity. It'll be a bit of a challenge to do the restoration, parts are like rocking horse ****, and the ride (540miles in 18hrs riding these days) will be rather tedious. However, it's my way of doing something to 'help' which is in keeping with Dad's interests. I've started a blog on the project (not done one before so it may be a bit ****e!), please have a look and subscribe if interested. I'll be whoring it around next year to try to raise some sponsorship...you've been warned! http://ridingalongwayslowly.blogspot.co.uk/

Re: Bit of a restoration project.
Another update on the blog. Engine rebuild is coming along nicely and the tanks is looking as good as new (almost!).
