Talking Baffles for my Carbon Can Co.

Hi,

I need baffles for my can before I get pulled.
I never realised how noisy it was until I drove through a nice little village with narrow roads and all I could hear was me rumbling!

The guy who sold it to me didn't have baffles in it so I need to find some myself!

I have a Carbon Can Co. I'll post a photo!

Thanks!

You can get dB killers from SP engineering fairly cheap
http://www.spengineering.co.uk/categ...b-killers.html
but you also have Quill exhausts near you in Warrington
http://www.quillexhausts.com/catalog...el_Killer.html
bit more money but if you rode over there they'd probably do it for you

I'm as sure as I can be that the CCC ones have a mechanical baffle, but my Akro one is wool packed and does make a racket when it's all been blown into the scenery. That and the can colours up where it's not being insulated from the hot gases any more!

Standard CCC baffle is basically an off-set tube with a bit of a slash-cut neat the exit. No fancy internals. Tight fit into the end of the can and secured with a small bolt. To be honest mine sound very similar with baffles in/out but runs better with them out.

This link to an R6 shows exactly the same sort of baffle I had supplied with my pair of SV1000 cans.

My Fireblade is pretty loud, well it's offisive to be honest. Every bike I've had before it has been ran with baffles out.

Not been pulled so far, even in Swizerland where apparently they shoot loud bikers on the spot at the border!

Smallgirl why don't you get a noise test? Pop along to a track day and sweet-talk the scrutineers once everyone has had theirs done, or use a phone app. Unless it's really loud then you're into the realms of personal preference. I've got a Quill can I use every day which is E marked, and a Akrapovic sport pro spec can which I keep for track days as it's dented to hell and back, and while both are loud, they've never measure more than 98dB at a static test. Twins are loud all the time, fours are loud up top but quiet when you're pootling. I guess loud is loud however you cut it though.
