Default Iannone bike

At the end of MotoGP in Philip Island, Iannone's bike had a hole in the fairings. I've gone through the gull incident and it does't look like that caused it. Any other thoughts?

Air intake! Sorry - couldn't stop myself..

I remember Lorenzo collecting a gull in the forks/side fairing during practice a couple years ago. That was a good set of pictures!!

Mick..

It was mentioned on the BT Sports coverage and actually just found a pic of it:

Not sure hot the bird would have hit the fairing - before it hit his head (taking a lot of the impact away)? he did pretty well in the race so Maybe Ducati will try that instead of the wing in the next race...

Been looking at stills of the bird strike. The bird hits the bike after Andrea gives it a Glasgow kiss.

I think he just ducked instinctively (no pun intended), the Seagull hit the bike, not his head! If you look really closely at your picture above you can see the hole appearing.

Indeed, the gull never hit his head, but the split second timing of his head duck and the bird strike made it look so on first viewing.
