Default Moped Down

I came home today to find my lad picking gravel out of his knees & hands.
Only 20 yards from home, a lad on a unlicensed crosser, without a helmet, shot out in front of him causing him to brake too hard (panic) for that mavelous front suspension that mopeds have, to cope with. Down he went spinning star shaped down the road.
The lad on the crosser didn't stop. Dan says that it appeared to him that he could not ride it properly, as he kept looking down at his foot every time he changed gear. A lady in a car behind him helped him back home. (thankyou who ever you are)
No serious harm done this time, although in the words of BigApe
Always wear yer ferkin leathers
If Dan had been wearing proper clothing, the only thing hurting would be his pride.
So even if you are "just nipping down the road to the shop, I'll only be doing 20 mph" wear the proper clothing. You just carn't predict other peoples actions

Another person coming forward to help, the world needs more people like this.

I'm guessing your lad with be wearing the right stuff next time, glad he is ok and got off lightly.

Perhaps you should report it to the police, they might pick up the lad on the crosser if your lucky.

Not a lot of info to report really
Short haired youth on red crosser

Dan sould become more awear of his suroundings, then maybe he could of avoided this one
Don't want to sound too hard on the boy with gravel rash, but it's the truth.
You never know what's coming, so expect everything

Seems like a good way to learn. He might pay more attention from now on.

In any case, bummer!

Hope he hasnt gone of riding. And seconded on wearing full kit, even when going just up the road. I give my dad dodgy looks every time he jumps on the scooter to pop out "just for some milk". He knows the rules about getting on my bike now though

I'm glad your lad is okay.

The majority of lady scooter riders wear bike gear but most of the young males dont.

Times are changing

The boys becoming a man
He dosen't want me telling him what to do anymore, he wants to make his own decisions
I only hope he makes the right decisions, stand by those decisions & learn from any mistakes he makes.

He knows that he could have avoided this incident, he hasn't moaned about his pain or blamed the other lad on the crosser. Good on him I say, he is now acting like an adult. (apart from when you ask him to tidy his room)
