Morning all.
That's my preferred method of lubricating the chain. Just make sure you don't catch yourself in the chain whilst doing so. I had a customer who watched me do it on a bike, & thought he'd try it on his CBR, & managed to catch his little finger in the chain. OUCH! he lost half of his finger......It brings a new meaning to the term 'I've got a bone to pick with you' I suppose. ![]() Cheers. |

It's a silly thing to do, don't be so lazy.
A guy on here lost his thumb a few years ago because he wasn't paying enough attention. Why risk it for the same of a few extra minutes.

No. Best to lube the chain after a ride too, when its still hot.

If I've read the OP right (bike on paddock, engine on, bike in 1st, lube chain, turn engine off, rear wheel stops spinning), then I can't see the harm (to the bike) in doing this.
The rear wheel and chain were under minimal load (wheel wasn't on the floor). There's more stress put through the system than stalling the bike when riding normally. As for lubing the chain with the bike turning the chain for you, so long as you're sensible I can't see the problem, but I also can't recommend anyone do it. That said, I've done it, maybe twice in the last 30k+ miles. |

Yeah, that was Nudist who dethumed himself. He fitted a red chain to the bike after, when he was asked why he said "symbolism"
