Exclamation RF Signal Detector for Mark_h.

Following our conversation Sunday morning, I had a look on fleabay and found this budget RF detector looks like a bargain!

I already got myself one of these when my indicator packed up. Turned out to be a blown bulb in the end!

Reminds me, having a few problems with my indicator too! Might get that nuclear reactor I saw on ebay this morning.

Just buy a new loom, that should cure it!

That's a serious bit of kit.

And I thought the £300 one works supposed to be getting me was cool.

Ad you and Mark need to chat RE: RF interference. A lot more viable for your work tools to be misplaced for a day or two instead of mine.

Don't know yet if it's interference, noise or just crap device.

My router 802.11b/g/n drops every few mins but only intermittently. When it drops the Access point name also disappears and is seen as "AccessPoint" in the wifi connection gadget before it reappears under its own name a few seconds later. It's a BT homehub3 if it makes any difference.

Run an 802.11 2.4ghz scan (INSSIDER) and there is no other 802.11 services for several channels either side of it but regardless of where this one is set the signal shows a saw-wave pattern where-as most others are flat with occasional dips. Refresh on my scanner is not amazing so what it's displaying as a saw-wave could be anything really.

Seems to mostly happen in the late evening. Tried turning various things off but I'm surrounded by streetlamps so could be one of those. Also new neighbours so maybe they are spies for LPH and have a secret radio built into a bed-stead to disrupt party coms?

Turned off the 802.11 n to give everything an easier time which may have helped a bit but too soon to say. Getting the same symptom on several PCs so unless I've been broadly hit by a virus I don't think it's PC related.

Anything you know about?

Sounds a bit like interference, you could try tuning an am radio to 612 and having a listen for it.

I assume you've tried changing the wireless channel?
