Default meta 3 alarm and battery drain?

how much of a drain is it on the battery, how long will it take to flatten the battery, and if leaving the bike for some time, whats the best to prevent the battery flattening?

is there a sleep mode, if so hows it activated?

Sleep mode activates automatically after ten days. The longest I've left mine is about 4 weeks and it started just fine.

I think the Meta goes into sleep mode after a month of the bike not being used i.e. the ignition not turned on. Then the battery on my GSXR held enough charge to start the bike for about 3 months, but it totallly toasted the battery and it wouldnt hold charge after being deeply discharged by the alarm.

If you have an optimate I'd leave it connected when you're not using the bike.

As for hot grips, they dont take long to flatten the battery, I reckon a couple of hours probably before its flat but I'm not 100% sure.

hot grips - if it's the latest oxford version with the digital control they will not switch unless there is enough power

Depends what state your battery is in really. When mine was on its last legs, cold weather + 5 days with alarm on would be enough to drain it fully.
