Have you fitted a fenda extenda? - (a front mudguard extension piece)
Or tried silicone grease around the plug? Both of these help stop this. |

If you can't get silicon grease (I couldn't), then lithium grease works just as well.
Think it cost me £5. A fender extender is £18 plus the time & effort to fit it. Smear the grease on, goodbye wet running issues. |

get a fender extender...

The fenda extenda never solved the problems on my 2006 brand new SV. Any time it rained heavily I would get a nice single cyclinder bike. It's a weak point n the overall design of the SV. I think some kind of grease can be applied to the fron cyclinder head to minimise the effect though.

I tried and failed to glue two makes of fender extender to my SV(using all sorts of sticky stuff) before I decided that they ruin the lines of the bike anyway. And screws just add to the bad look. So I have both a pyramid and powerbronze fender extenders rotting in my garage. Just bought a tube of the silicone glop from Maplin that Northy recommended.
