Con you would have to bypass the clutch and sidestand switches which would then give you the magical ability of dropping your bike from a distance if you left it in gear/kids were messing about.
Best not to do it really

Well you need to override the clutch switch.
Then why do it. you would need to have to leave the ignition switch turned on, main power cut off by your remote start device and enabled when you try to start etc. Too much risk for no gain

thats v true but surely for the bike thing it wouldnt start if it was in gear and the side stand is down... and iveread that theres a 30second delay on the bike key bit so onlystarts for that amount of time then it goes off unless u turn key if u know what i mean.

They work by replacing the key with a fob (ie they replace the keyswitch with an electronic one) To work this would mean you would have to be on the bike, the sidestand up and the clutch held in. Which is pointless Which is why they say to disable the switches. Which leaves "runaway bike" an option

Only thing that is remotly close to this which wouldnt be too bader thing would be a 1098 style auto starter. IE press start and leave it to do the rest. Im sure this could prove to be a pain in the **** if the engine isnt playing fair...

![]() edit: I forget - do you always need the clutch pulled in to start? anyway, just don't override the side stand switch Last edited by Stu; 29-04-08 at 04:01 PM. |
