Stupid bike............ Why does it keep jumping out of 2nd gear????
It only does it on clutchless changes, mainly when changing 1st - 2nd on the back wheel (most junctions) and it is really starting to P*ss me off ![]() any ideas? Thanks ![]() |

Mine sometimes does this but thought it woz due to me trying to change up to quick and not given the bike time to fully engage into second gear. Got no technical reason for it but it seems to be ok if i flick the gear shifter up harder.

Forgot to say , also check that the gear change linkage where it bolts to output shaft is torqued up properly. If it's not, it can cause missed changes/what side MS mentioned to happen. Also will cause wear on the splines....which is not good.
So basically I'd be check chain free play, what I siad above and that the gear lever moves as it should. It could of course, be non of the above(but hopefully it is one of the above ![]() ![]() Ben |

I'd have thought it would be pretty normal to do this kind of thing doing a clutch-less up-shift from first to second, given that neutral is between them. It's the reason I don't do clutch-less changes from first gear myself as I can rarely get it right (might just be me I suppose...).

chain and gear lever are both ok...... Have tried using the clutch but the front wheel falls out the sky!!!
It may just be that it don,t like cluthless changes 1st - 2nd ![]() |

I thought wheelieing an SV650 was bad for it anyway? It's a wet sump so all the oil will just go to the back of the engine and starve the front cylinder. Eventually meaning grinding noises, a crunch and new engine time...
